What Exactly is a Condo “Spot”?

I’ve been getting a lot of questions around spots and how they can be split with other people.  As such, I figured a more detailed post may help explain what exactly a spot “is”.  :)

The condo block is made up of four, 4-bedroom condos.  Each condo has a total of six beds, where each bed equals one spot.  This is where the 24 available spots is derived from. The following beds are available in each condo:

• Two double beds (2 spots)
• One queen sized bed (1 spot)
• One king sized bed (1 spot)
• Two twin beds (2 spots)

Below is an image of the condo floor plans showcasing which rooms contain which beds. The blue text at the top of the image indicates the maximum number of people allowed in that room.

You have the option of splitting your spot (sharing a bed) with someone to keep costs down.  Any double, queen or king sized beds may be shared with another person; this allows you to control who you share a bed or room with.

Just a Friendly Reminder….

Early registration for the bead retreat ends on January 31st.  If you are interested in staying in the main condo block, the fee will go up to $160.00/slot.  If you have booked your own accommodations, the retreat fee will increase to $15.00/lampworker.

Please be sure to send in your payment as early as possible to guarantee the lowest fee and to also secure your spot!

Workshops & Classes

We’re now accepting suggestions for classes and workshops for the retreat!  Is there something you’d like to learn?  Something you’d like to teach?  If so, then please post a comment to this message or visit our Facebook page and leave us your thoughts there!

There have already been some great suggestions, but we’d love to add a few more classes, if possible!

Registration for MBR 7 is Now Open!

It’s finally time to start registering for the bead retreat!  Please visit the registration page to learn more about registration and other details concerning the retreat!

Also, please know there are some changes this year regarding the condos.  The main change is that the condos will now have 24 spots (rather than the usual 40).  This will ensure everyone gets their own bed.  However….you can SPLIT your spot with someone if you wish!

Secondly, we will not be reserving couples’ units this year.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The 7th Annual Missouri Bead Retreat

It’s hard to believe, but it’s almost time for another retreat!  The 7th annual retreat will take place Friday, May 18th through Monday, May 21st.  We’ll be back with our friends at Alhonna Resort and sign ups will begin promptly on Monday, January 9th, 2012!
